Julie Stauch announced her candidacy Tuesday for the 2026 race as a Democrat.

“Iowa has a lot of problems, and I’ve spent my whole career solving problems in a lot of different places,” Stauch said in an interview. “So I’ve applied for the job.”

Julie Stauch, Democratic Candidate for Governor, today announced she is officially in the race for Governor. “Today, I am applying for the job of Governor of Iowa and look forward to holding interview sessions across the state for the next year,” said Stauch.
